Who are you living for? Or for the grammarians, “For whom are you living?” When you decide to live your life for yourself and take ownership and responsibility for your life, then and only then do you really start living.
For a while in our lives as children and growing up, some of us do things because someone told us to or because someone expected us to or because someone wanted us to. We very rarely make decisions because we decided that a particular decision was best for us – not mom, dad or anyone else whose opinion we hold in esteem. The only exception to this list is God. We should always be aware of the purpose He had in mind for us when He created us, and we should be seeking that. However, we should really just “take under advisement” the desires of other people. This is YOUR life, and you are the only one who must live it. There are no trade-ins, or exchanges. Every choice you make is yours, and you must own it – good, bad, wise and unwise.
We will always be faced with choices, decisions and consequences in that order, and with those actions we create our paths daily. Each choice causes us to walk down different paths that create a variety of realities, and each decision has its own consequence. The infinite choices that God allows us to make out of love continuously give us the opportunity to create a new reality for our life.
We are the masters of our life, and we decide where we will go. These decisions are ours, and we cannot blame where we are in life on anyone but ourselves. Where are you now? If you are not where you want to be, then you have some choices to create and decisions to make. INSANITY is doing the same thing and expecting different results. You cannot shirk responsibility for your life’s choices with a plea of “insanity.” You now know what you need to do, and you are responsible for that knowledge. Now, GO DO IT!
